Tortellino D’Oro is older than I am and like the finest Italian wine (that's a thing right?) it just gets better every time I go. The veggie dishes are some of the nicest in Joburg - especially their Tortelli Al Funghi Trifolati or Ravioli di Zucca

It's noisy, packed and hot with random Italian people running around, waving their arms and pouring you more wine. But underneath all of that, it is also authentic, generous food, infused with the spirit of many generations of the Italian family that runs this place like it's your aunt's kitchen. You aunt who makes virtually everything from scratch including a kiss-ass gelato, that is.
