Burnside Cafe is this hidden gem in the middle of Craighall Park. You drive in and it feels like you're either in the countryside or at your very posh grandmother's house but either way, it's elegant, inviting, open. It definitely has a 35+ vibe to it so don't be too shocked young ones. The love vibe is also quite strong at this place. I went with a male platonic friend and we are in our 20s so we did not quite fit in. This coupled with us both being of colour sort of had us as the only dots on the page, so to speak.
Despite not really fitting into to Burnside's target audience, we had a great evening. They are a little lite on veggie dishes but the rest is a good poultry/meat/fish split so on balance: beautiful food, lovingly made. Perfect for a fancy date night or dinner with the parentals. I would stay away for any work-related functions unless you're renting the place out.
